Warning: dropped $340 on a Morioka stump grinder attachment that bogged down on my first job

Burnt a whole Saturday on a 14 inch oak stump in Tacoma, and it just spun and smoked while the teeth glazed over. Anyone found a setup under $500 that actually chews through hardwood stumps, or am I stuck renting?
