Can we talk about the thrill of matching broken pieces together?
I was at a field school in Greece last year, and we had this box of ceramic fragments. For days, we sorted through them, nothing fitting. Then, one afternoon, I picked up a piece and it just clicked with another. The edges matched perfectly, revealing part of a vase design. It was such a simple moment, but it felt huge. Suddenly, all those hours made sense. We could start to see what the whole thing might have looked like. It's these small wins that remind me why I love this work.

Your story from Greece hit home for me. That exact click when ceramic edges match, it's a feeling you can't really explain, is it? I spent a weekend once trying to glue back a favorite mug, and when two big shards finally lined up, I almost cried. It's not about the thing itself, but about fixing a small part of your world. Why do we care so much about putting broken stuff back together? Maybe because it proves we can.

Got that same feeling when I finally fixed my old bike after weeks of trying different parts. It's like life gives you these little puzzles all the time, a broken thing or a messy situation. Putting one small piece right makes the next piece easier to see. You start to believe the whole mess might actually come together. It builds up from there, quiet wins that change everything.
