Sounds about right. "Guaranteed" in this hobby usually just means guaranteed to take your money. That spot was probably seeded with pull tabs by the guy who sold you the pass. A rusty horseshoe is at least kinda funny though, like the universe giving you a little wink for your trouble. Next time skip the paid spots and hit a creek or an old park for free, the finds won't be any worse and your wallet stays happy.
