Imagine the goat just eating the little flags marking your grid lines. You're trying to explain the science of your dig to a farmer who only cares that his animal is now happily munching on your expensive survey markers. The whole day turns into a weird chase to save your data from a hungry goat, while the farmer keeps asking if you're sure you put them in the right spot.
