inUpdate: I picked Python over Java for my first language back in 2018.
Totally agree about that early win feeling. My first real project was a script that sorted my downloads folder by file type, and it felt like magic. That momentum carried me into making a simple web scraper for concert dates, which was messy but actually worked. Those small, useful projects built way more confidence than any tutorial. Python's great for that quick payoff that makes you want to learn the harder stuff next.

inSerious question, I used to plan every move for a big job down to the minute. After a disaster in St. Louis last year, I think that's a terrible way to run things.
But isn't some structure just necessary to get things done? The real world has deadlines and basic plans for a reason. Maybe the problem is just bad plans, not planning itself.

inHonestly thought those new ceramic fiber blankets were just overpriced hype until I used one on a 12-inch steam line repair in Toledo last winter.
What exactly broke on the line?

inMy digital painting got flagged for AI use at a contest in Denver last month
Worry this could accidentally hurt artists with disabilities. Some people use really steady digital tools or special brushes because of motor control issues. Their work might look "too perfect" to judges who don't know their process. We're setting a standard where only visible, messy brushstrokes equal "real" art, and that's not fair to everyone.

Maybe they were just securing it for later.
