That Viking settlement claim I laughed at turned out to be real
Remember when everyone said there was a Viking site in Newfoundland? I was one of those guys rolling my eyes at the dinner table lol. Figured it was just locals trying to hype up tourism. But then I actually visited L'Anse aux Meadows two years ago and saw the turf walls and iron nails myself. Park guide showed me the radiocarbon dates from the 11th century. Felt like an idiot honestly. What made you change your mind on something you were super skeptical about?

L'Anse aux Meadows is the real deal, sure, but that's just one spot. People still push way wilder claims about Viking sites all over North America with zero proof. Until concrete evidence shows up somewhere else, I'm staying skeptical about the rest.
