Gave up my paper planner for a shared calendar, now I get why people push it
For years I kept everything in a Moleskine and transferred tasks to a wall chart at home. Then my partner and I missed two kid appointments in one week because we both assumed the other had it written down. I moved everything to Google Calendar with shared access and reminders set for 2 days before. It took about a week to stop checking the paper, but now I can't imagine going back. Has anyone else had a harder time convincing a spouse or coworker to actually check the shared calendar instead of asking you for updates?
Why do spouses treat a shared calendar like it's a suggestion box nobody reads? Mine will literally walk past the tablet on the counter with the week's events on it, then ask me what time soccer is. I added him as a guest to every event so his phone dings, and he still asks. At this point I'm about ready to set his reminder sound to my voice yelling the appointment details. The calendar works great, it's the humans who need the update.
