Just realized my phone number is basically public record now

Was helping my dad renew his license at the DMV in Tulsa last Tuesday and the clerk read off his phone number from the screen like it was nothing. A guy two feet away could've easily written it down. Took me a second to remember that your info goes into databases that get sold or leaked all the time. I did a quick search of my own number when I got home and found it listed on three people-search sites for free. Has anyone else tried scrubbing their info from those sites and seen any real results, or is it just a loop you have to repeat every few months?

Start with the free opt-outs on the big three sites, delete me, beenverified, and whitepages. It works for a while but yeah, you gotta redo it every 6 months or so. I put a calendar reminder on my phone, takes like 15 minutes.
