The change in my gas bill after 6 months of smart thermostat use
I put in a Nest thermostat last December. My January bill was $185, same as always. By March it dropped to $140. June was only $95 because I stopped heating empty rooms. The thing just learned when I leave and backs off the temp. Has anyone else seen a similar drop after a few months with one of these things?

and the funny part is we only notice when it breaks or needs an update. I had a smart thermostat that quietly adjusted the temp for months, and when the wifi went out, the house felt off all day until I realized it lost its schedule. @hill.barbara that's exactly the kind of thing where you don't appreciate the quiet work until it's gone. Do you ever catch yourself resetting something and wondering how you managed before it got smart?
