Just realized a stuck caliper bolt ate 6 hours of my Saturday in Akron
Customer brought in a 2014 F-150 with a dragging front brake and I figured it was an hour job, maybe two. That lower caliper bolt on the driver side was seized solid and my impact wouldn't touch it, so I soaked it in PB Blaster and let it sit while I did other work. Came back, tried heat, still nothing, and I ended up snapping the head off at around hour three. Spent the next two hours drilling it out and chasing the threads, then had to run to the parts store in Akron for a replacement bolt because the old one was toast. Whole thing turned a brake job into a 6 hour ordeal and the truck sat on my lift way longer than I planned. Any of you got a trick for these caliper bolts before they get this bad, or is heat and patience the only real answer?
