Old timer at a gas station taught me how to bleed brakes solo in 10 minutes

I was stuck on a brake job last Tuesday and this guy in his 70s walked over from the pump. He showed me how to use a piece of tubing and a spare bottle instead of needing a second person. Has anyone else picked up a trick from a random stranger that actually worked?

Bleeding brakes solo in 10 minutes" sounds a little optimistic... you're not getting a full system bleed that fast unless the lines are already nearly perfect and you're just topping off.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I tried to do a quick brake bleed on my old Civic before a road trip. Thought I'd be slick with a one-man kit and some YouTube tips. Ended up pushing so much air into the system I had pedal to the floor by the time I hit the first off ramp. Had to limp it to a buddy's shop and we spent like two hours fixing my mess. So yeah, 10 minutes solo is definitely a dream unless you got some magic setup or the system is already bled to perfection.
