DAE fly into a small mountain airport and just... think about all the terrain avionics keeping you safe?

Landing at Eagle County Airport in Colorado, I saw all those mountains and just wondered if the tech is really doing that much. Honestly, it feels like we give too much credit to fancy gear. Pilots have been landing in tough spots for decades without all this stuff. The real safety comes from training and experience, not just beeps and screens. Sure, the avionics help, but they're just tools. If you ask me, it's the person in the cockpit who keeps you safe, not the black boxes.

Tell that to the pilots who used to navigate with paper maps and a prayer.

Yeah @young.jesse I used to totally agree. But saw a doc on mountain rescues last week. The new tech spots problems humans just miss. Changed my mind.
