Hit 200 squawk entries in my logbook and it made me weirdly proud
Cleaned out my work logbook on Friday at the hangar in Tulsa and counted 200 entries since January. That's not a brag, most of them are loose connector pins and dead LRUs on the same three King Airs. But seeing the number written down made me notice I've stopped guessing where to start on a squawk, I just know now. Somewhere around entry 150 I quit lugging the manual out for every pitot heat issue. Any of you keep a running count, or is that just me being a nerd about it?
Count the number and you will start chasing the number instead of the fix. Those 200 entries feel good now, but I have watched guys get so hooked on logging hours and squawks that they rush the easy jobs just to pad the book, and that is how a loose pin turns into a return trip. Track your wins some other way, because the logbook is a record, not a scoreboard.
