inFound a jar of pickles in my cabinet from 2019 and it shook up my whole outlook on expiration dates
The "best by date of March 2019" part hit home for me cause I did the same exact thing with a jar of pickles from 2020 during covid. I was scared to try them but my buddy dared me and they were totally fine. That brine is basically magic. I've been way more relaxed about canned stuff and pickles ever since. I think people get way too scared by those dates. If it looks good and smells good it probably is good, especially with anything pickled or fermented.

inWhy does nobody talk about how easy it is to rake Kwikset locks with a cheap Bogota pick?
My buddy Dave lives in that new complex off Third Street, you know the one with the key fobs. Last month someone walked right through the back door where the latch was broke for three days, stole two bikes and a TV from the laundry room. @bettyh84 is right, nobody even saw a lockpick. Dave didn't even know the door was broken till the cops showed up and pointed at it. Locks are the least of your worries when people just walk in.

inThe leg press incident at Gold's last Tuesday still bugs me
Oh man, that's a weird one. I gotta say though, I don't think the plate dropped on his foot - it sounds more like he just let it slip off the machine while he was loading it, not a full drop from height. Those 45 pounders are awkward to handle when you're tired. Still, the fact he stood there like a statue is pretty funny in a sad way. I would've called someone right away, because numb toes can mean nerve damage or a break even if you don't feel it right then. That adrenaline can hide pain for a bit, you know? The manager dragging it out 5 minutes makes me think that Gold's on 4th has worse customer service than my old gym.

inThat knife show in Houston made me ditch my belt grinder for a file jig
3 swipes to the right on @mitchell.nancy and my router fell in the toilet, honestly.

inI finally got ghosted after a third interview and it still stings
Did you try sending a polite email instead of calling? Sometimes phone messages get lost in the shuffle but emails sit in their inbox. Most companies ghost because they're either scared to say no or they already picked someone else and are just bad at closing the loop. Give it one more shot with a short email, then let it go if you still get nothing. It is super frustrating but it happens to everyone.
