That military spec harness sticker is a lie

Saw a post last week about someone bragging their new test bench used mil-spec wiring. I laughed. I worked on an F-16 harness back in 2007 at Luke AFB that looked perfect on the outside. Peeling back the sleeving showed 22 gauge wire soldered with no strain relief. It passed inspection too. Point is, that sticker just means the paper says so. The real work is in the crimp tool settings and the terminal selection. I've seen 5 dollar crimpers ruin a 200 dollar connector. Has anyone else had a customer argue that a certified harness couldn't fail, then watched it short out on the bench?
