Tried a new bonding compound on a cracked display bezel and it melted right through

Was working on a Garmin G600 bezel that had a hairline crack last Thursday. Thought I'd grab some random epoxy from the hardware store instead of the usual stuff. Big mistake. That stuff ate through the plastic in like 2 minutes. Had to scrap the whole bezel and order a new one. Anyone had a bonding compound that actually works on those Garmin bezels without ruining them?

Had a similar oops moment with super glue on my phone case once, definitely learned that lesson the hard way too.

Honestly, @schmidt.willow, super glue is a nightmare on some plastics. I tried that on a cheap RC car bumper once and it turned into a sticky, cracked mess. Learned real quick to check the plastic type before slapping on any adhesive.
