Why does nobody warn new grads about the 90 day rule on modified avionics installs
A lead at our Wichita hangar pulled me aside last month and mentioned that anything touched outside the STC paperwork has to be re-verified as airworthy within 90 days or the log entry gets flagged, and I've now seen two guys almost sign off on harness swaps past that window without realizing it, so is anyone else keeping a calendar just for STC recheck dates?
That "90 day rule" reminded me of when I kept a sticky note on my toolbox for torque rechecks and it fell off behind the box for like six months. Found it during a cleanup and had a small heart attack before I realized nothing on that list was even still in the plane.
