Choosing between a 5 PM call with my mom or a family dinner invite, I picked the call and my brother still brings it up

Last month I had to pick between my mom's usual Sunday phone call, which she expects at exactly 5 PM, and my brother's last-minute dinner invite for the same time, and I chose the call because she gets anxious if I skip it, but now my brother keeps joking that I love the phone more than his cooking, so has anyone else had to pick between two family obligations that were both kinda important?
