I finally started the inheritance convo with my folks

Watching families fall out over it made me see that getting it out in the open saves relationships.

Man, I used to think talking about money was just asking for trouble. But seeing the mess it makes when nobody talks changed my mind. Getting it all out there is way better.

Totally get what you mean, @jennifer358. I've seen the same thing with roommates who never talk about splitting bills or cleaning, and it always leads to fights. My cousin had a huge fall-out with her best friend because they never set clear rules about lending cash. It's like we're taught to avoid hard talks, but that just makes everything worse. Now I try to bring up money stuff early, even if it feels weird.
