Unpopular opinion: the AT is overrated for experienced backpackers
I was talking to a guy at a gear shop in Asheville last weekend who said the Appalachian Trail is just a crowded green tunnel for 90% of its length, and honestly after hiking a 200 mile stretch in Virginia last fall I can't disagree why do we act like it's the ultimate test for everyone.

Read a guy online call it "the worlds longest sidewalk" and honestly that stuck with me.
