Neighbor's deck comment made me rethink my whole shed plan
I was out back measuring for a 12x16 shed near Tacoma and my neighbor Frank, who built his own place 20 years ago, walked over and said 'you're planning it for looks, not for rain.' I kept arguing about pitch and spacing until he pointed at my foundation layout and asked where the water would go when we get our 3 inches in November. That stopped me cold because I never even checked my yard's slope after the last grading job. Anyone else had a simple comment flip your whole build approach, or am I the only one who overthought the easy part?
