The $40 paver leveling sand turned my wobbly fire pit into a showpiece

Three weeks ago my fire pit ring sat crooked on old bricks, every log shift sent sparks sideways, and my neighbor Phil joked it looked like a drunk square dance floor. I dug out the base, dumped in two bags of polymeric sand from Lowe's for $40, and tapped each paver with a rubber mallet until the bubble level read true. Has anyone else noticed how much a flat surface changes how often they actually use their backyard setup, or is it just me?
