I built a workbench out of big box pine and posted it, and a guy named Ray commented that my top would sag in a year. I blew it off until he showed up at the ReStore where I volunteer and we looked at my frame together. He put a level on my 8 foot span and the gap under the middle was almost 1/4 inch. I spent $60 on two laminated 2x6 beams instead and it has been dead flat for 8 months now. Was I just lucky that a stranger cared enough to check, or have other people here had someone call out their framing in person?
