Rant: spent 6 hours on a floating shelf that sags 1/4 inch on the left side
Built a 36 inch oak shelf for my sister's place in Boise and used two 8 inch L brackets rated for 50 lbs each, but the left side droops because I hit a stud on the right and just used a drywall anchor on the left. I know I cut corners, my drill kept stripping the anchor so I said good enough and moved on, and now she's texting me photos of her books sliding toward the sag. Do I rip out the drywall to sister up a real block or just add a third bracket in the middle and hope she stops noticing?
