I was sure my roommate's $12 whiteboard chore chart was a joke, until week 3 hit
My roommate Dave hung a $12 whiteboard on our fridge back in August and I honestly laughed at him for treating two grown men like kindergarteners. For the first two weeks I ignored it completely and just did my dishes whenever. Then week three came and I realized neither of us had nagged the other about trash or rent once, which has never happened in any place I have lived. We are now 14 weeks in with zero fights, and I actually check that board every morning before class. Has anyone else had a dumb looking system like this actually save a friendship?
So what happens when someone forgets to erase their checkmark, does Dave issue a formal warning or do you just get the silent treatment? Honestly though a $12 board beating every chore talk we've ever had is kind of hilarious.
