DAE blow $200 on a used table saw that scared me straight into being safer
Admitting a bad take here: I grabbed a beat up Rockwell table saw off Marketplace for $200 about 4 weeks back and told myself I'd fix the guard later. First cut on a fence picket, the wood kicked back and smacked me in the gut hard enough to knock the wind out. I sat on the garage floor for like 10 minutes doing the math on how dumb that was, then ordered a $60 splitter and pawls that night. My take is that cheap used tools with missing safety parts are not a deal, they are a bill you pay with your ribs. Anyone got a good story about a cheap tool that taught you a lesson?
