Vent: That time I defended a bad movie and lost a whole book club
Last March in Denver, I argued that the 2019 Cats film had artistic merit because of the uncanny CGI, and I pressed my case for 20 minutes at our monthly meeting. Three members quit the group over it, and now I can't get invited to the new fiction night they started. Is it worth pushing a rare opinion when the social cost is real, or do you just nod along next time?
