Stop trusting your oven's built-in thermostat

My bakes came out wrong for months. I got an oven thermometer and saw the heat was off. Do you check your oven's heat when you bake?

@joseph_black, that's so relatable! I've seen this with baking where folks don't realize their oven temperature is off or they measure flour wrong. It happens in other areas too, like thinking you're bad at gardening because plants keep dying, but they just need more sun. We often blame ourselves instead of spotting one tiny missing step. A friend thought she was awful at knitting until someone showed her how to hold the needles right. It's wild how common this is!
