inGot a 4 inch rock stuck in the pump intake near Cape May last Tuesday
Man, that's a rough break. I put some heavy duty mesh screen over my intake after I sucked up a bunch of eelgrass last summer, and it's been a lifesaver since. Just gotta make sure to clean it off every couple of trips or it'll clog up and choke your flow anyway.

inMy mandoline slicer caught me off guard and cost me a trip to urgent care last Tuesday
And you know, this is just one of those things where cheap tools make life harder than it needs to be. I've noticed that pattern everywhere, not just in kitchens. People buy the cheapest mandoline to save ten bucks, then end up bleeding all over their cutting board. Same with crappy knives or dull scissors, they always cause more trouble. But yeah, super glue is a lifesaver for quick fixes, just don't tell my doctor I said that.

inMy 'just one more' email check at 10pm was wrecking my sleep for years
My roommate tried that same trick on me last year with a loud kitchen timer for when I forgot to take out the trash. I just started hiding it in the freezer behind the frozen peas, it would beep but by the time she found it the moment was gone. Honestly the best counter is to set your own timer for when you need to do the thing, beat them at their own game before the beep even starts. If you really want to shut it down, buy a silent vibrating timer off Amazon for like 12 bucks and use that instead, they can't weaponize what they can't hear. The whole thing is just a power move, ignore the beep long enough and they realize it doesnt actually get you to do anything faster.

inSwitched from a Coleman to a Therm-a-Rest sleeping pad after one bad night
I read somewhere that the real magic in those Therm-a-Rest pads is the reflective layer inside bouncing your body heat back at you... the Coleman just lets it soak right into the dirt. That warmth difference was a total game changer for me too once I switched.
