Switched from a Coleman to a Therm-a-Rest sleeping pad after one bad night

I spent last weekend at a campsite near Lake George and brought my old Coleman inflatable pad. Woke up every two hours with my hip touching the ground. Next morning I borrowed my buddy's Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite and it was like sleeping on a cloud for the rest of the trip. Has anyone else made that switch and felt the same difference?

Oh man, the Coleman ground feel is real. I had that exact same pad for years and just thought that's how camping was supposed to be until a friend let me crash on their NeoAir one night. So here's my question for you - was it just the extra thickness that fixed it, or did the Therm-a-Rest actually feel warmer too? I noticed my Coleman let cold seep up from the ground way worse than I realized until I switched. That makes a bigger difference for me than the comfort honestly.

I read somewhere that the real magic in those Therm-a-Rest pads is the reflective layer inside bouncing your body heat back at you... the Coleman just lets it soak right into the dirt. That warmth difference was a total game changer for me too once I switched.
