Walked into a new med spa in Tempe and their LED mask station looked like a biohazard zone

The cords were all tangled on the floor and the mask lenses had visible smudges. How do you even run a business like that?

Tried to patch a hole in my drywall with spackle instead of a proper patch kit

Had a fist-sized hole in my bedroom wall from an old shelf. The choice was between buying a drywall patch kit for about $15 or just packing it full of spackle. I went with the spackle to save a trip to the store. It looked okay for a day, then it all cracked and fell out onto the floor. Has anyone fixed a mess like this without having to cut out a whole new piece of drywall?

My manager in Phoenix said 'never ask for a raise in Q4' and it messed me up

I was getting ready to talk about my pay after a big project last November, and she pulled me aside before the meeting. She looked me dead in the eye and said 'budget is locked, asking now just makes you look out of touch.' Do you think that's solid advice or a way to keep salaries low?
