I moved my savings from my bank to a broker last Tuesday and watched $3 in fees turn into $0
I had about $8,000 sitting in a big bank savings account earning almost nothing, and last Tuesday I finally moved it to a brokerage money market fund. The difference showed up fast: my bank was charging me a $3 monthly fee for the account while the broker charges nothing and pays a bit of interest. What really stood out was how the bank branch near me in Dayton couldn't explain the fee when I called, they just said it was standard. Has anyone else dealt with a bank fee that nobody could actually explain?
