I used to think keeping my cash at a bank was safer until I got hit with a $1,200 mess last month
I was sitting in my kitchen in Boise on a Saturday morning when I noticed my bank had charged me $38 twice for the same transfer. I called them and the guy on the phone kept saying it was a "system timing issue" but could not explain why my rent bounced because of it. That $1,200 overdraft hit pushed me to finally open a brokerage account with a debit card and checking, and the transfer fee there was zero. I moved my direct deposit over that same week and my paycheck showed up a day early. Has anyone else had a bank mess up a simple transfer and then act like it was your fault?
