Little library win - got 3 banned books back on a shelf today
Found a "Little Free Library" near my kid's school that was totally empty of anything controversial, so I dropped off copies of "The Hate U Give" and two others someone had complained about. Anybody else restocking these boxes with books that actually matter?

You talkin about the little libraries? Yeah I've seen that happen. A buddy of mine restocked one near his church with "The Handmaid's Tale" and some other stuff. Someone ripped the whole box down two days later. He just built a new one and bolted it to a post. Some people can't stand the thought of kids reading real stuff.

Hard disagree with @davidh88 on this one. Putting "The Handmaid's Tale" in a little library near a church isn't just stocking books, it's pushing a specific worldview on a community that might have different values. Parents should get to decide what their kids read, not some random person restocking a box. Bible stories and classic literature have a place in those libraries too, but nobody's burning those down. If you're gonna put controversial stuff out there, expect people to push back.
