Appreciation post: A client in Austin swore by using a straight razor on his beard line and I was totally wrong about it.
For years I thought it was just a gimmick for show, but after he insisted I try it on him, the precision and finish were way cleaner than my usual trimmer. I've been practicing on a few willing regulars for the last month and the results are consistently sharper. Anyone else made the switch and have tips for keeping the blade feeling right?

Heard a similar story from a buddy who cuts hair. He had this one guy, a lawyer, who brought in his own straight razor every single time. My friend thought it was just for looks, you know, like a weird flex. But the guy talked him into using it for a clean-up, and my friend said the line it left was just unreal, like drawn with a pen. He got obsessed with getting the angle right on the strop afterwards to keep the edge. Said it's a totally different feel in the hand compared to clippers, but once you get it, there's no going back.

But is it really worth the extra risk? One slip and you're dealing with a pretty bad cut, not just a bad haircut.
