Swore by my clippers until I tried shears for a full fade

Tried a full scissor-over-comb fade on a client last Wednesday in Austin and it came out smoother than any clipper fade I've done in 5 years. Has anyone else found shears work better for certain head shapes?

Yeah the scissor-over-comb thing is legit. I switched to shears for my fades about a year ago and it's night and day. The transition from the fade to the top blends way smoother, especially on guys with cowlicks or weird crown patterns. Clippers always left that harsh line no matter how much I worked it but shears just melt it in.

Switched to shears and suddenly I feel like a legit barber instead of just a guy with clippers. My crown game has never been smoother.
