Took me 2 hours to fix a frozen register because of one dumb sticker

Last Saturday our main register at the sandwich shop froze right during the lunch rush with a line out the door. I tried restarting it 4 times, unplugged the card reader, and even called our POS support line where a guy in Manila had me read him error codes for 40 minutes. Finally my coworker noticed a tiny "please update" sticker from 2022 stuck behind the screen that was hiding a reset button nobody had ever pressed. I held it down for 10 seconds and the thing booted right up, 2 hours of my life gone. Has anyone else found a fix that was literally right in front of your face the whole time?
