Had a customer ask me to "just tighten the spokes" on a 40-year-old wheel yesterday
I tried to explain spoke tension and wheel truing are different things but he insisted it was just loose. After 20 minutes of watching me actually true the wheel he goes "oh so it IS more complicated than I thought." Has anyone else had a customer try to explain your own job back to you?

God, my buddy runs a bike shop and said someone argued their brakes just needed "a good spray" instead of new pads.

Is that really any worse than people who never touch their brakes at all?
