Showerthought: I rebuilt 500 wheels and number 500 was the first one I laced right the first time
I keep a tally on the wall by my bench and hit 500 wheel builds on Tuesday. That last one took me 22 minutes start to finish, but my first wheel back in 2009 took me two hours and it was still out of round. Does anyone else keep a count of anything at the bench, or am I the only one with tally marks on the drywall?

Two hours on your first one and it was still out of round? That is wild to think about. My first set of wheels back in the day took me a whole weekend and I still had to take them to a shop to get fixed. The jump from two hours to 22 minutes is nuts, but I guess that is what 500 reps does to a person. The tally marks on the drywall are a nice touch too. Do you ever look at that wall and feel weirdly proud and also kind of tired at the same time lol.
