My kids couldn't believe we used to plan our weeks around show times
I mean, back in the day, you had to be home at 8 PM on Thursday to catch your favorite show, or you'd miss it. Now, with streaming, everything's just there whenever you want, which is great, but idk, it feels different somehow. Does anyone else get a bit nostalgic for that, or is it just me?

Back in 1998, I never missed an episode of Friends at 8 PM on NBC. I used to love how streaming let me watch shows on my own schedule. Then I realized we stopped talking about shows with friends because everyone watched at different times. That shared experience of watching live, with commercials and all, created a common topic for the next day. Now I see the value in that old system, even with its limits. It forced us to sync up and enjoy things as a group.

Honestly, losing that shared schedule killed the next-day buzz we all lived for.

Right? We just picked a night to all watch together.
