Question about spending $30 on a random show that went nowhere
I dropped about $30 on a complete series box set of some old sci-fi show called 'Space Rangers' from the 90s. I found it at a thrift store and thought it might be a hidden gem, but man was I wrong. The acting was so wooden I almost fell asleep in the first episode, and the special effects looked like cardboard cutouts on strings. I made it through three episodes before I gave up and put the discs back in the case. Now the box is just sitting on my shelf mocking me for wasting cash on a bad gamble. Has anyone else ever bought a show on a whim that totally burned you? Should I try to resell it or just toss it in the donation pile?

Ha, yeah I've got one. My buddy Colin bought the complete box set of some forgotten sitcom called "The Faculty" from the early 2000s for like 25 bucks at a garage sale. He thought it was some lost gem about teachers being secretly cool or something. Turns out it was just a bad spin off of a worse movie, and the first episode had a laugh track that made him want to claw his ears off. He ended up donating it to a library sale after it sat on his shelf for two years, and he still brings it up whenever someone mentions thrift store finds.

Wait, did you check if those discs have any special features or commentaries? My buddy Marcus pulled the same thing with some forgotten 80s cartoon called "Sky Rangers" and ended up sitting through all of it cuz he thought it might get better. He said the show was so bad it became funny around episode 4, like watching a train wreck in slow motion. He actually kept the box on his shelf as a conversation starter at parties. I'd say toss it in the donation pile unless you want to torture yourself for laughs, because that 30 bucks is gone either way.
