TIL my cousin's 'just pay the minimum' advice tanked my credit score by 40 points

oh man that sucks, bad advice is the worst. something nobody's brought up is how your cousin might have been giving you advice based on his own card terms. some cards do have a "minimum payment" that includes interest plus a small principal chunk, but others let you skate by paying just the interest. if your cousin has a card like that, he probably thought it was fine for you too. but most cards these days the minimum barely touches the balance, so your utilization stays sky high. credit card companies love that because they make money off interest. they don't care if your score tanks. your cousin probably just didn't know his own card's fine print.

Rant: Our town hall this week went completely off the rails

Gotta be honest, 40 people dropping off sounds like a typical Tuesday at most companies. Town halls always turn into a mix of someone droning about color codes while everyone else is trying to figure out if they still have a job next month. The Chicago office probably worked because it was a smaller group with actual questions. The big ones just turn into a circus where the leaders read off slides nobody cares about. At least you got some answers about Q3 goals. That's like finding a twenty in a coat pocket. Most of the time these things are just noise.

My dad told me to keep a $100 bill folded up in my phone case for emergencies...

Hid a fifty in an old sock once, forgot about it, then panicked thinking I'd lost it. Found it two years later when I was moving and treated myself to a really fancy pizza. That's the thing about emergency cash, you either forget it exists or you spend it on something dumb like a gas station hot dog because you're hangry. My biggest stash right now is a crumpled twenty in my glove compartment that's been there since 2019 and smells faintly of old french fries.

I finally bought that $400 UV gel lamp for my home kit after my old one died mid-set.

Ugh, mid-set is the absolute worst time for a lamp to die. I feel your pain. My old cheap lamp took forever to cure anything, and I got more lifting. Upgrading to a stronger one was a game changer for how long my manis last. For something you use constantly, that extra power feels worth it.

Found out frozen veggies actually crisp up better than fresh in the air fryer

My frozen veggie experiments usually end with me scraping charcoal off a baking sheet. The water content theory makes sense, but my oven's mood swings are the real variable. Some days it crisps, other days it just makes sad, steamed mush.
