Blew $1,800 on a coding bootcamp with a 12 week promise, and the recruiter lady was the one who flipped my thinking

I signed up for a $1,800 coding bootcamp back in January because their ads kept saying 12 weeks to a new job, and I was tired of retail. About halfway through I started noticing the career help was just a PDF with resume tips, so I posted about it in a group and a recruiter named Dana messaged me. She said most of those places live on one or two real success stories and the rest of the grads never get called, which hit me hard since I had already paid in full. The actual coding part was fine but it's stuff you can learn for free in 6 months of nights and weekends. I dropped out with 4 weeks left and spent the rest on a few college classes instead. Did anyone here actually land a job from one of these bootcamps, or am I just out $1,800?
