Went from giving up on 3 shows in January to finishing 6 seasons since March, and the fix was dumb simple
Back in January I kept starting stuff like The Bear and giving up 20 minutes in because I was scrolling my phone the whole time. So I tried a rule where the phone stays in the other room for one episode, nothing else. Since March I've gotten through 6 full seasons, including all of Severance and Shogun, and I actually remember what happened in them. Anyone else have a trick that got them back into watching stuff properly?
I feel this so hard. I did the same thing with The Bear, watched the first 15 minutes like three separate times and kept picking up my phone without even thinking about it. What finally worked for me was putting on subtitles, weirdly enough, because it gave my eyes something to do so I stopped reaching for the phone. Six seasons is a solid run too, Severance alone takes some real focus with all the timeline stuff.
