Rant: That fiberglass repair on my old canoe took 6 weekends

Six weekends sounds like you're bragging. Real boaters just buy a new canoe and move on.

Used to think 5G towers caused health problems until a friend showed me the science

EMF sticker tax" has to be one of the funniest phrases I've seen all month. Like you're slapping a holographic sticker on your phone and expecting the government to tax you for the privilege. I'm surprised there isn't a crypto coin called EMF Token to go along with it. Honestly, if they taxed stores for selling those stickers they'd probably make more money off the sticker itself than the actual phone case. At this point I'm half convinced the whole EMF thing is just a way to sell overpriced stickers to people who watched too many YouTube conspiracy videos. But hey, if it helps you sleep at night, go for it. Just don't expect me to pay extra for one.

Shelled out $80 for a HEPA vacuum attachment for my shop vac and it's actually working great on soot cleanup.

Oh man that's funny you mention the water in the bottom trick, my dad always did that with his old shop vac too. Not for soot but once he was trying to vacuum up this huge mess of like spilled glitter and craft supplies from my little sister's room and the water just turned into this weird sparkly sludge that got everywhere. Spent like an hour cleaning the vac out after that. Probably woulda been $80 well spent that day honestly!

Talked to my grandpa about chatbots and he made a point I hadn't thought of

Is it really that different though? People still have to talk to each other in real life for the important stuff. @lane.joel your grandpa had to call a bank teller but now we just text or email them instead. The core skill of communicating what you need is still there, it's just the method that changed. My grandpa said the same thing about calculators making us forget how to do math, but nobody's forgotten how to count money. Plus chatbots handle the boring stuff so we can focus on the actual human conversations that matter. I think the whole forgetting how to talk thing is way overblown.
