So our office got this new barcode scanner for checking in supply deliveries, and my manager Kendra swore it would cut the boring part of my shift in half. Instead it beeps every 3 seconds and I have to stand there pointing it at boxes for 4 straight hours, which somehow feels longer than the old paper log ever did. Turns out the beeping is what makes it drag, like a slow clock you can't ignore. Does anyone else's workplace have a gadget that was supposed to save time but just made the boredom louder?
