Appreciation post: the $3 guitar pick trick that fixed my sticky PS4 disc drive
Three years ago my launch PS4 stopped reading discs and I almost bought a new one at the GameStop on Ventura Blvd in Studio City. A guy in a repair thread had me take the top cover off, put a small guitar pick under the drive arm to add pressure, and it worked for another two years. The arm just sags over time and loses contact with the disc. Has anyone else tried this fix, or did yours skip past this and need a whole new laser?
