Rant: I thought coal forging was just old guys being stubborn until I tried it at a demo in Tulsa
I always figured propane was the smarter way to go and that coal was just nostalgia, but a guy at a smithing demo let me run his coal forge for half an hour and the heat control was honestly easier to read by eye. The clinker got annoying fast though, so now I'm torn on whether to build a coal setup in my shed. Anyone here run both and have a strong reason to pick one?
