Saw a guy at a hammer-in use a modified park bench as an anvil stand

Was down at the Southern Ohio Forge hammer-in last spring, and this older smith had his anvil mounted on what looked like a welded-up steel park bench frame. Said he found it at a scrap yard for $40 and it was way more stable than his old wooden stump. Has anyone else tried building a stand from recycled steel furniture like that?
