PSA: my brother in law said my game nights are too quiet and it hit me hard

He came over Saturday for pizza and watched us play Wingspan. About 20 minutes in he asked why nobody was talking. I said we were all just thinking about our turns. He said it looked like a waiting room at a dentist office. That stung a little. I started noticing how we barely look up between turns and just pass the box around. So now I want to try games that force more talking like Codenames or Monikers. What do you all do to keep the table loud and fun?
